India’s $100B Gaming Vision 2035 Projects 20 lakh Jobs & More

The Game Developers Association of India (GDAI) has outlined a bold roadmap in its India Gaming Vision 2035, aiming to position India as a global leader in the gaming and interactive entertainment industry.
According to the vision document, the Indian gaming sector has the potential to achieve $100 billion in total value creation, $10 billion in annual gaming content exports, and generate over 20 lakh jobs by 2035.
These projections highlight not only economic promise but also the creative potential of a fast-evolving industry that sits at the intersection of technology, art, and storytelling.
But the big question is, how do we get there?
Strengthen Skills & Education
The first step is talent. India must nurture thousands of game artists, designers, programmers, and storytellers who understand both global trends and local narratives. Future-focused academic programs and hands-on studio experiences will be key.
Invest in Original IP
Outsourcing and service projects have long suited Indian studios. Games inspired by Indian mythology, cities, and daily life must become global hits in the next decade.
Build a Supportive Ecosystem
Funding, mentorship, policy incentives, and regional game hubs can boost growth. Collaboration between academia, industry, and government can realize vision.
India's $100B gaming dream is growing. We can create games and a new era of digital creativity and employment with the right skill, storytelling, and strategy.
The Road Ahead
India’s gaming industry stands at an inflection point. With focused investment in skills, innovation, and ecosystem development, the goals outlined by GDAI are ambitious yet attainable. Achieving them will not only strengthen India’s digital economy but also establish it as a creative powerhouse on the world stage.
